Monsters are imaginary—or so the children of Lucille City have been calmed. Jam and her best friend, Redemption, have grown up with that same assumption all of their lives. Tasked with sniffing out monsters—one monster in particular, and slinking in the House of Redemption—Pet makes Jam do some reimagining. The two must answer the questions: how do you save the world from monsters that everyone swears are make-believe? And in a world without monsters, did people forget what they look like?
